What is a Lucid Dream?

Lucid dreaming occurs when you’re aware that you’re dreaming during the dream. Thus, we can
recognize our thoughts and emotions within the dream. Sometimes, you can even control the dream,
altering the outcome or what is happening. People who can do this use this opportunity to seek
answers or to heal a particular situation orrelationship.

When we sleep, our brain cycles through rapid eye movement sleep or REM sleep and nonREM sleep. During REM sleep, brain activity increases, and we experience dreams. Usually, REM sleep takes place after 90 minutes of sleep. During Rem sleep, our heart rate and eye movements increase drastically, and this is when lucid dreaming could potentially take place if you know how to unlock it or if you’re lucky. Did you know that 55% of people have experienced lucid dreams in their lifetime? Lucid dreams can happen out of the blue, even if you have no idea how to do it. However, you can also induce lucid dreaming and experience it frequently if you want to.

Getting Ready for Lucid Dreaming

As previously said, lucid dreaming can help you heal situations or relationships, and it can also
be used for manifestation or to raise your vibration.So, if you wish to become a lucid dreamer and use this fantastic tool to heal, manifest, and raiseyour consciousness, there are a few things you can do to get ready for it.

Tips to trigger Lucid Dreaming….

  • Get enough sleep every night. Create a schedule and stick to it. You need at least 8
    hours of sleep to be physically ready for this practice.
  • Exercise daily and eat healthy foods, especially before falling asleep. Avoid caffeine,
    alcohol, fatty foods, and sugars. The best foods to consume to induce lucid dreaming
    are fresh and organic produce.
  • Create a relaxing sleep environment and avoid electronics at least two hours before
    going to bed.
  • Keep a dream journal by your bed. Preferably at your arms’ length to record everything
    you remember from your dreams every time you wake up.
  • Ensure vitamin intake. Some vitamins, such as vitamin B complex, can help promote
    lucid dreaming if taken after the first 4 hours of sleep.

Remembering, Recording & Interpreting Dreams

A good practice to get into lucid dreaming is to start recording your dreams in a dream journal or
diary. Whether it is a notebook, phone, or laptop, what matters the most is to record all your dreams there. Writing down your dreams forces you to recall them, and it will also help your brain become more aware while dreaming.

Write down your dreams as soon as you wake up in the morning. The secret to remembering your dreams is to lay still as soon as you wake up. Do not get up, roll over, stretch, or yawn. Stay still, and reach for the journal to briefly write down in bullet points whatever you recall. You can expand on each point later. The key is to write down the main parts you remember and focus on the details later.

Interpreting your dreams can be a fun and tangible way of understanding what you need to work on or what might be happening in your subconscious. Ultimately, it can help you receive messages from your higher self and even communicate with it. However, dreams are never an exact representation of what is truly happening. Everything you dream is a symbol. These symbols can either come from the
collective consciousness or from your own consciousness.

Another tip that will help you interpret your dreams is knowing that everyone in the dream represents a part of you. Symbology and Dream Interpretation is an integral part of how I help my clients heal their problems or relationships and manifest their vision.

Lucid Dream Induction Techniques

It’s essential to learn different techniques to induce lucid dreaming. That way, you’ll increase your chances of becoming lucid within a dream, depending on what resonates the most with you. You can see which technique works best for you and take it from there. Below you’ll find a few techniques you could try

Reality Testing is a type of mental training. This practice enhances your metacognition by training the mind to notice your awareness. The reality testing method requires you to make reality checks throughout the day. As this becomes a habit, you’ll be able to induce awareness while dreaming, just as you would during a reality check. Below are some practical tips to activate it:

  • Touch solid objects – Push your fingers against solid objects. If it passes through, then
    you are dreaming.
  • Try breathing – Pinch your nose, and notice if you can breathe. If so, you’re in a dream.
  • Use a mirror – During a dream state, your reflection won’t look normal.
  • Look at your hands – And count your fingers. If you’re dreaming, they won’t look the
    same.

Wake Back to Bed (WBTB)

Set an alarm five hours after bedtime. When the alarm goes off, try to stay up for 30 minutes,
you can read a book, but don’t look at a screen. Then, fall back asleep. When you fall back asleep, you’ll be more likely to experience a lucid dream. The trick is to do something that requires your full attention, ike reading a book during the wake period.

Mnemonic Induction of Lucid Dreams (MILD)

This method is based on a technique called prospective memory, which allows you to set an intention to do something later, in this case, enter a lucid dream state.As you fall asleep, you could remember a recent dream or identify a dreamsign, which is anevent that has a low probability of occurring during your waking state.As you keep thinking about returning to the dream, acknowledge the dreamsign only happenswithin a dream. Keep telling yourself:

“I want to remember that I’m dreaming.”

Recite this in yourhead over and over as you fall back asleep.These techniques will allow you to notice whether you are in a dream or still awake. The wholepurpose behind it is to signal you whether you can start working on your dreams or not.

Healing and Manifesting within a Lucid Dream

The fun part comes after going through the work of trying to become lucid within your dream. Although, the entire process is fun. Once you finally unlock your lucidity within a dream, the possibilities are infinite. You can heal your emotions or your physical body during a lucid dream. Similarly, I have experienced most of my healing through lucid dreaming. This practice has y transformed my life
dramatically once I began to apply it as part of my spiritual work. What’s more, just like me, many others have been able to heal and free their minds from

Ultimately, you can try a few techniques while lucid to both heal and start
manifesting consciously in your waking life. Here are a few techniques
to reap its benefits:

  • Place your hands on the area that needs physical healing and request for this to heal. Sometimes it may take several attempts. The key is to keep trying to heal the same area within the dream. Shift your attention on healing one aspect at a time. For instance, heal your sight before you move on to something else.
  • Say you want to overcome a phobia from snakes. So, try to manifest them in your dream. When they appear in your dream, you shall not fear them. Why? Because you know they are not “real” – it’s just a dream. You may play with it or simply ignore it. Your brain cannot discern between dreams and reality. Therefore, what we are actually doing here is reprogramming our mind to overcome the phobia, which will then translate to our waking life. Basically, you are forming new neural pathways during sleep.
  • Finally, imagine you just want to heal something in your life (anything). After you become lucid in a dream, begin to substitute whatever aspects of the dream need to be changed, replace a beast for a cute animal.

A house into a building, you get it.Changing symbols within your dreams is a practice from Tibetan Dream Yoga, a technique used to awaken the consciousness in the dream state in order to heal “bardos”. By changing A into B, you’re helping the healing and manifestation process, which will then transform our waking state. Personally, this is my preferred method of healing and manifesting through dreams. However, just like I said before, you are free to experiment and find what resonates the most with you. In the end, it’s your path.
